I am currently listening to Kosy 106.5's Showtune Saturday Night, and as such, I felt inspired to add a post to my blog--not to describe what has been currently going on, but to share my favorite things. So, without further ado, here is a current list of my favorite things, or at least things I would like to be doing:

Writing. I am currently working on a full-length novel. I know I've been writing since I was little, creating new stories or using someone else's character to create my own adventures--but this time is different. It's an idea that sprung from my own imagination, along with characters that appeared in my head. I don't really want to share the plot, currently, as I'm still working on it (I've only gotten to Chapter 2, and that's still rough!), but I certainly love writing. It's a great outlet.Sadly, I'll admit that I've become hooked on the Twilight series. It all began in 2006, after Stephenie Meyer came to BYU. I was intrigued by these books and by the fact that the entire Harold B. Lee Library was packed full of college age girls talking about a book. So, I went out and bought Twilight. Read it, loved it, had to have New Moon. I read that as well. Even was caught reading it by a cute boy in my class. Well, they are making a movie out of the first book, and I somehow go sucked in to websites that have updates from people who have crashed the movie sets. And yes...my favorite thing is the actor they picked to play Edward. He's adorable and I feel ridiculously pathetic staring at his picture. But there it is.
Jane Austen Season on KUED. Every Sunday night, for the past two months, they have been showing movies based on Jane Austen novels. I have been thoroughly entertained. My favorite is Persuasion because that book has held major significance to me, as it was read to me by my roommate a long time ago, when I was terribly sick and lying on the couch because I didn't have enough strength to walk up the stairs to my bedroom. But with a face such as this--I don't think I could ask for a better Captain Wentworth. Of course, that means that I have been attempting to read all of Jane Austen's novels this year--as a new personal goal. If you have not seen it, I will be happy to loan you my copy!
Have I mentioned that I have taken up running? I'm not very good, and I haven't been very often this last week because it rained and then I had activities every day and was late getting home from work. But I've been trying to run every day after work--30 minutes. There's a park nearby that has a running path. One lap equals 1.16 miles. I've been pleased with my progress.
Picnics are glorious. As the weather continues to be warm, I've been eating lunch outside with my co-worker, Christy. Last Sunday, I laid out on the grass with a book and read for an hour. It felt so good.
Sandals. I can't say how much I love wearing sandals. I now carry my work shoes in my bag and change when I get to work because I'm obsessed with trying to get my amazing sandal tan back that I had on my mission. Hopefully soon!
Well, that is everything that currently ranks among my favorites. And now I should probably get to bed as I have to teach Sunday School tomorrow! Cheers!
PS--Angela, yes--I am really wanting to go to the beach right now! Hence the reason for the new layout.
