Update

Wow. I've been really bad at updating. I'm sorry. Things have just been rather stressful at work and I've spent a lot of time at home trying to de-stress... which hasn't always been successful. And as much as I want to tell you all what is going on at work through this blog--it's not going to happen. Sorry. You never know what people can read on my blog. Maybe I should just make it private. *shrug* One day.

So, besides work being stressful and unnerving, I enrolled in my first two classes for grad school. One starts on January 5th and the other doesn't start until January 26th. That's right, three days before my birthday I will be on the internet getting my homework assignment. Crazy. I can't believe it's finally here.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I went home to San Diego, and as always, I didn't want to leave. That place just makes me feel so good. And I'm sure it had everything to do with so many of my family being there. Four of my brothers and my sister were able to be in San Diego for Thanksgiving. For six days I was able to leave behind work and really enjoy myself. And I did!1

Then I went back to work. We got the January 2010 Liahona. I'm so proud of this magazine. We redesigned and created something new to hopefully bless the lives of the members of the Church throughout the world. If you haven't seen it... you should check it out.

And lastly, I've already started making plans for 2010. Not just school plans--my friend and I bought tickets to see Michael Bublé in concert. I have one of his concert dvds from my days of working at PBS affiliate, KBYU, but something about being able to actually go is going to be awesome! I can't wait. Seriously.

Well, I think that's all from me for now. Hopefully I'll have some blogs after Christmas and into the new year that are more exciting than this. I'm also planning to create a blog that reviews all of my books, so my ever growing list off to the right of this screen will disappear after the end of this year. I mostly kept that record for myself--I don't know if anyone else ever read it. But I'll be sure to link to my new blog once I have it up and running.

Merry Christmas!

1Plus, I have to say that my sisters-in-law, one of my brothers, dad, and mom were all very complimentary to me regarding my weight loss. It felt so good!

Inspired

My apologies for not posting in awhile. Here's hoping that this week I can do an update post.

But in the mean time, you should take a minute and read a story. It definitely has inspired me.

This is a quote from Washington Irving that was in the article and now I want to print it out and put it on my mirror:

There is in every true woman's heart a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity; but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.
