My Week Via Instagram

And Friday has arrived once again. So here we go:

This was actually from two weeks ago.
Heidi and I were taking a walk to get some drinks. Heidi always has to stop and smell the roses. So I snapped this pictures to capture the moment.

From Saturday. My audition outfit.
Yes... you read that correctly. I auditioned for a musical.
It was terrifying. I choked on my song, I had no idea what I was doing.
But my monologue? I nailed it. I mean, when you get one of the casting directors to cry and feel your emotion, you know you did okay.

To lick my wounds from my failure (it's okay. I accept the fact that I either need singing lessons or some serious courage), I drove down to Provo and took my niece out to lunch.
Malawi's Pizza is a fantastic place and we shared a pizza, some pasta, and then got the dessert pictured above (Banana brûlée pizza? YES!)

I went to World Market to purchase a few items needed for my friend and discovered that they had this spread. I have wanted this spread since I came home from Spain. It's now my treat. I get a little bit on some multi-grain bread if I've been a good girl during the day.

Lastly, this was how work looked on Wednesday. Yep. I'm watching the Spain v. Portugal game on one screen and doing my work on the other. It got a little dicey a couple of times, but so worth. I can't wait to watch the game on Sunday. Spain v. Italy.

There it is. The last week in my life.

Come Together

I currently have the Beatles stuck in my head as I race to finish the 2011 Family DVD before I leave for San Diego tomorrow (yes... I realize that it's halfway through 2012. Better late than never.).

But, I decided that it was time to post about a very special occasion from last week. My friends, Julie & Anthony were sealed in the temple. And I was able to attend the festivities.

It really all started on Tuesday night. We gave Julie a bachelorette party: Mormon style. It consisted of:

Asian Star restaurant.
Yep, I took a picture of the food, not the people there. Maybe I gained like 2 pounds from eating it. But was it worth it? Momentarily, yes. Considering my current dating record—probably not the smartest choice.

Wednesday, we all piled into Anthony's family's Mexican restaurant and had a fiesta. Our friend, Hillary, is currently in the MTC in Provo before heading off to Russia. I have discovered that one of the perks about the place I work is free same-day courier service to the MTC. One of the group drew a "pocket Hillary" so that we could take pictures.

Hillary enjoying the salsa.

The gang:
Anthony, Julie, Kasi, Lindsey, Amy
Me, Brianna, William

So, we all went to bed that night and woke up and went to the temple. The sealing was beautiful. And perfect.

We waited outside and took more pictures with pocket Hillary (I won't bore you with those), but I got some other pictures like:

Yep. Linds, Hills, and me.

The bouquet. Those were her colors. Beautiful!

On pinterest, there is a picture of a guy doing a fist pump while kissing his bride. The caption says, "Every girl deserves this." I told Anthony about it. He promised that he would do it. And he did. Man of his word. I'm blessed to call him my friend.

Lindsey and I discovered that no one had planned to decorate their car. We took that assignment very seriously. Lindsey used her cricut and we went all out.

Unfortunately, during the hour we spent decorating the car, some other people decided that our decorations were "too nice" and "too girly" (comments said as we sat in 90˚ weather decorating said car, with the blessing of the bride and groom). The final result was a little less than pretty, but at least we had some documentation.

I spent the reception going toe-to-toe with the "helper" the venue had there. If she did any work, they would've had to pay extra. And that woman... she was quick to picking up trash and throwing it away. But about fifteen minutes in, I had her contained and she wasn't going anywhere.

Me, Anthony, Julie, Lindsey, and Kasi

The send-off.

I'm so happy for them.
And hopefully, one day, I'll see a wedding from the other side.

My Week Via Instagram

I realize that it looks boring...

Cause it is.

I even had to pull an instagram from my friend because otherwise it would've been REALLY  boring.

The beginnings of the bruise sustained when a softball hit me in the shin during ward softball. I think I might need to just stay away from sports in general.

Meanwhile, yesterday was spent in the historic Tabernacle on Temple Square doing work.
I finally got out of my office for an afternoon.

And then I was captured on film by the guys who do the Music and the Spoken Word. My friend, Heidi, was the interviewee. I felt stupid the whole time. And... well, there's a reason I usually am found on the opposite side of the camera.

See... pretty boring week. Here's to hoping next week is a little more exciting. It should be. I have a wedding. And then another week of work. And then California for the 4th!

Cheers!

My Week in Instagram

Well... maybe I'm using Instagram more than I should (meaning more than I use Facebook or my blog).

So, here is a glimpse of what I've been up to...

Laying out by the pool at my complex... it opened on Memorial Day. I'm praying for a tan this year... And also reading about social media. I'm a little obsessed.

Attending oldest niece's high school graduation. I can't believe she's off to college.
I'm feeling very old. Especially when she started talking about how I'm going to be 40 when her youngest brother graduates high school.
Basically, my biological clock has become a ticking time bomb...

Discovered a new restaurant out near me. Melty Way. The entire menu is dedicated to grilled cheese sandwiches. It was DELICIOUS! I'm so going back.

Got a summer pedicure. Please disregard how fat my feet are. I know that I'm gaining weight instead of losing it, but my feet can definitely look pretty while in the painful process of dieting and working out, right? Right.
I'm hoping it lasts until I'm back in California. Otherwise, I may have to convince one of my SILs to go with me for a pedicure... And then convince her husband too.
