Weekend at Bear Lake

It was time to do another first.

Take my friends to the family cabin at Bear Lake.

Friday night we packed into my car and away we went. We got to the cabin after it was dark and I found a little grill and we started the weekend off with an appropriate arrival snack:

Late night snacking was followed by late night chats until we decided that we might want to go to bed. So we each picked out bed and turned out the lights...

And woke up to this:

Beautiful morning.

I made breakfast and then we decided to go on a bit of an adventure.
But oh yes... I discovered that Grandpa Teuscher had a nickname in college:

Clever.

And then we began our adventure.
Said adventure took us to Paris...

Paris, Idaho, that is.

Amy is in disbelief over how many children Charles C. Rich fathered...

And then... we figured we might as well travel to Geneva, Idaho.
Look! I found the old homestead!

Then, we went to the lake. We were woefully unprepared to stay at the beach, unfortunately. But we all discussed making this a yearly tradition.

We drove around the lake and ended up at Bear Lake Pizza. Got some lunch.
We returned to the cabin, packed the car, double checked the checklist and locked it up.

Made one last stop (essential stop, I should add)...

And were back on the road. This time, we drove through Wyoming.

While in Evanston, I discovered that McDonald's ain't no joke in Wyoming:

Flat screen TV in the bathroom? Yes... yes that is.

Cheers!

BYU Football Game

So maybe the Church was offered a discount on BYU game tickets. I purchased a ticket to the game against Weber State and determined to have a day out with the niece.

She was kind enough to purchase a tshirt for me...

The adventures included and were not limited to:
1. A trip to the creamery for groceries.
2. The cashier at the creamery flirting with me and not with my adorable niece. (I apparently still have game. My niece was quick to remind me that I look far too old to be an undergraduate.)
3. A trip to the grocery store for items that the creamery does not have.
4. J-dawgs. My niece hadn't had one yet!
5. Trip to the creamery for an ice cream cone before the game (Seriously chocolate is the BEST ice cream).

Then we came to game time:

Prime seats.

Did I mention that we forgot to put on sunscreen?
I got a lot of sun.
So much that for a week all I heard at work was, "You look like you got some sun?"
I wanted my response to be: "Really? You think? This peeling is TOTALLY the new facial treatment on pinterest."

The cute niece. See? This is why I'm confused by the boy who flirted with me. She's adorable.

Also, maybe we decided that I need to move back to Provo so that we can live together. Unfortunately, my job is in Salt Lake... And I hate that commute. So, unless I magically find a job in Provo... Yeah. We'll just keep enjoying the football games and the basketball games.

Life Via Instagram

I've found this is the fastest way to update my blog. A picture's worth a thousand words, right?

Groupon had a deal for a meal at this restaurant that is just around the corner (and down the street) from my apartment. I took a couple of friends out to eat for dinner on a Friday night. It was delicious!

These are hawaiian donuts from Moki's. DELICIOUS! Plus I had a coconut pineapple shake that pretty much can never be beat. It's my new favorite.

Went on a walk with my friend. This was posted on a house we passed.
I'm debating which place to go first. Where would you go?

Summer seems to have departed. We had some rain storms (which were a welcomed change) and rain turned into hail one afternoon. This was the result. It's not snow, thankfully.
